LZ3 AG Day Indoor Items
Dear Parents/Caregivers
AG DAY – Saturday 27th October 2018
LZ3RM LZ3MW LZ3FE
Please ensure your child has the necessary items at school on Friday 26th October to make their Zoo Enclosure scene and the Floral Structure. Students who do not have the necessary items at school on the Friday will be given set work to complete.

1. Floral - Zoo animal vase
  • The vase/container needs to represent a Zoo animal (face, body, tail, neck, etc).
  • This can be made out of anything but needs to have a receptacle/oasis to hold the flowers.
  • Flowers used need to suit the zoo animal that is represented by the vase/container eg yellow flowers for a lion, orange for a tiger etc
  • Flowers - at least 3 different varieties of flowers or plants
                          - the colours need to represent the animal
               - need to be in proportion with the vase/container.
Everything should be brought to school (NOT as a flower arrangement). We will then set the children up to put their floral arrangement together in the “all ready” decorated vase.

2. Sand Tray
  • Zoo enclosure scene, approx A4 size - no bigger! (eg shoebox lid, meat tray etc).
  • The sand tray needs to be a zoo animal enclosure/habitat
  • Include a label and a drawing so the judges can see what animal it represents
  • Zoo animals and habitat can be made out of play dough, plasticine, pipe cleaners, straws, fabric etc.
  • If doing an enclosure that involves water then tinfoil, blue jelly, blue paper etc can be used.
  • At least 3 elements are to be home made (animal itself is optional)
  • The judges will be looking at creativity

3. Art Item - this is being made at school.

Once again - everything needs to be brought to school separately and only put together at school.

Examples of previous Ag Day items may be viewed on the LZ3 blog.

Any questions please ask us.
