LZ3MW- Buddy Reading
We have started buddy Reading with LZ2 children. All the LZ2 classes come down to our learning environments and work with our children at the end of Reading on Thursday at 12.45/ just before lunchtime. This is a great opportunity for our Year 2 children to have an older and more experienced reader that can help and encourage them. It is also a nice way to get to know some of the LZ2 students, share some learning with them and have another person to show their progress with reading.
Here are some pictures of LZ3MW and buddy Reading partners from LZ2RM/ LZ2 groups and we will continue into Term 3 and 4.

LZ3MW- Clown Card words
We are finding new and interesting ways to make and show our Clown card words.
In LZ3MW we have sorted out our Lego into the different colour groups and are finding pieces to create our Clown Card words.
We have also been using magnetic letters to find and make the Clown Card words from the first 6 Clown Card word lists.
LZ3MW- Art
LZ3MW- Art using our Initials, Maori koru pattern stencil's with crayon and dye.
The children had to use bright coloured cubes of paper to decorate their cut out initials of their names. We painted a bold border with black paint around our initials, using Maori Koru stencils to design a repeating pattern around the outlined black border. The koru patterns were coloured in using big wax crayons and dyed over with 1-2 colours, to finish we used bright and bold pastel colours to complete the outline of our koru designs.
