LZ3FE Matariki Sgraffito Art

Sgraffiti (Italian: "scratched") in the visual arts is a technique used in painting, pottery and glass, which consists of putting down a base layer and then covering it with another, and then scratching the top layer in such a way that the pattern or shape that emerges is of the base colours. We used pastels for our base colour and then painted over it with black paint. Then we used kebab sticks to "scratch" out the seven Matariki stars.
