LZ3 Trip to Te Hana Marae

LZ3 went to Te Hana Marae as part of our Inquiry for this term. We had a great day and learned a lot of interesting facts and information.

We were welcomed onto the Marae with a Powhiri.......

We did a tour of the Pa site and learned about the legend of Te Hana, whom the Marae is named after..............

Flax was used extensively so living quarters were always positioned close to flax (harakeke), or flax was planted near the living quarters.................

We were farewelled off the Marae and the children had an opportunity to say what they enjoyed about the day, and also for us to say thank you.................
